We are so excited to share this update. Because of great feedback from backers and our wear trials, we are now able to ship our Freestate shoes every 7-days. We are delighted to be able to do this in time for summer.

Hi Backers – Just to let you know that we have had to hold from shipping this week while we try to resolve some logistical issues at the factory warehouse – these issues have now been resolved and we will resume shipping next week , we will of course advise you all of the AWB details to enable the tracking of your Freestates as soon as they leave the factory – apologies again for the delay.

Hi Backers – We can see on the comments coming through that certain countries (particularly in Europe) are being advised of very high VAT/Tax/Duty charges passed through from DHL. Please note that we are looking into this at this side to try to find out a little more on why the costs are so high and will do our very best to learn any lessons we can from this in terms of customs declarations and import duty costs going forward. 

The shoes are shipped directly from the factory in China and we have no control over the level of taxes then applied to the shoes in various countries once we have paid for the consignments to be shipped. We had advised at launch that these taxes would be applied (within the FAQ section of the campaign) – however – they are higher than we expected and we will do all we can to find out why this is. We really do hope that this does not spoil your enjoyment of the shoes once you receive them. It has never been our intention to deceive or try to blindside anyone with hidden charges/costs – the costs were always going to be applied to shoes being sent direct from the factory, the level of these costs has stunned us as much as they have you. 

This is our very first campaign and we are learning all the time that some issues arise no matter how well you think you have them covered. We want you all to enjoy Freestate and are sorry that the first comments and reaction to them are for a totally unforeseen issue we had no control over.

Hi Backers – Just issuing a quick update to let you know that we have had some delays at the factory in sending out all the pledges this week as planned. We are now having to send these out in blocks of 70 pairs at a time to give the team at the factory a little more time to get the packaging exactly as we require. We know this isn’t ideal but we feel that given how important this first production run is to us on our very first order that we need to ensure these are packed perfectly. Some of you will have already received your pledges and some pledges are now on the way, we will mail you all as soon as your pledge is sent with an AWB so you can get these tracked. We will start sending out the mails tomorrow on those pledges sent and will mail each time a block of pledges has been sent.We hope to have all the pledges sent within the coming 10 days.

Apologies for this short delay – we hope that this short will be well worth the wait once you receive your Freestates.

Hi Backers, we are now at the stage of being able to get your pledges sent from the factory. It felt like this day would never come but we are now finally ready to get shoes on feet!

We are planning to send your shoes out over the course of the coming 72 hours and we will pull together all the tracking information as soon as we have it and will let you know the AWB details to enable you to get them tracked. We estimate that your shoes should be with you in the coming week to 10 days.

Once again, a quick reminder to let you know that Your shoes will be shipped straight from Asia – And that you may well be liable for import taxes/duty depending on your country of residence – we have no control over this and recommend that you check your countries import rates from China with your local import/export government department.

Finally seeing Freestate being packed up and completed has proved emotional at this side – we are super proud of them and hope you love them just as much as we do, thanks again!
